More information
This is the beautiful historic bridge of St. Ives, Cambridgeshire, under which flows the Great Ouse.
During the English Civil War, the bridge was partially blown up by Oliver Cromwell’s troops. The damaged section was later replaced; with the new section having two rounded arches and one gothic arch; somehwhat in contrast to the three surviving Gothic arches on the other side.
